The goal of this study is to look into the patient-reported and functional outcomes of patients who have undergone total femoral replacement or osseointegrated amputation for oncologic and traumatic indications. We want to see if functional and patient-reported outcomes are correlated and if patient satisfaction with the implants differs between surgical indications.

VisR Ultrasound for Non-Invasive Evaluation of Anisotropy in Breast Cancer Patients

This study will investigate how mechanical properties of breast tissue, such as stiffness, viscosity, and anisotropy, are related to breast tumor malignancy and response to chemotherapy. The study uses ultrasound imaging to measure these mechanical properties non-invasively in human subjects.

Liver Surgery Weight Tracking Study

The purpose of this research study is to monitor how well patients with fatty liver disease can follow clinician-recommended diet and exercise before their liver surgery. Our goal is to understand patient adherence to weight-related goals, weight loss, physical activity, and improved liver health. Evaluating Cancer Screening Events at North Carolina Community Health Centers

The goal of this study is to help CAPRICORN understand the needs of primary care clinics in North Carolina that provide free or low-cost healthcare. We will focus on how these clinics can offer cancer screening events to people in the community. To do this, we will create and use a survey to learn more about the needs of 3-4 clinics in North Carolina. Our findings will be shared in a report that includes suggestions for how CAPRICORN can grow over the next five years.
