We study a single-session psychotherapy intervention for helping people who are interested in reducing the amount of alcohol they are drinking.
There is an initial phone call to make sure you are able to take part. Then, there is a virtual visit taking place either on Zoom or via phone during which we will ask you questions about your alcohol use and your emotional wellbeing. If you are randomized to receive treatment, we will then schedule you for a 90-minute virtual therapy session with a study therapist. 2 weeks after receiving the experimental therapy, you will attend another virtual visit to answer questions about your experience with the treatment and your emotional wellbeing. There are two more follow-up phone calls 1 month and 3 months after completing the therapy session.
