Research study to prevent and reduce exposure to contaminated private well drinking water. Once participants provide consent, project staff administer a survey of prior well testing behavior, online or on paper. All consented participants who complete the survey receive a well test kit (via US mail or in person), which includes instructions, bottles, and an information sheet that requires participants to provide name / address and confirm they have followed recommended sampling protocol. Participants return samples to project staff, who will deliver samples to the UNC Superfund Research Program lab in the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health. Once samples have been processed, project staff develop report-back letters and share results with participants. Within 3-6 months of results being provided, project staff will send an electronic or paper evaluation survey to participants, to document any water treatment actions and understand participant recall of test results and satisfaction with study participation.

This study will focus examine a specific admissions tool, the Character Skills Snapshot (CSS), seeking to better understand the role of this tool in the admissions process of independent schools using it.

The purpose is to provide students enrolled in certain introduction-level Poli Sci courses with firsthand research experiences, and to provide political science researchers with a method for research participant recruitment.

We want to see how using special computer tools called generative AI can help teach nursing students better. We are studying if training teachers to use these tools helps them and their students learn more about AI. This study will also help us find out if these tools help us with teaching and learning about nursing.

This project will fund data collection for a natural experiment that jointly measures the vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and social participation impacts of an e-bike voucher pilot in Raleigh, North Carolina. The city will soon invite residents to enter a lottery to win one of 150 e-bike vouchers. A portion of these vouchers will offer a deeper discount to low-income applicants. The lottery is a natural experiment that allows us to evaluate the causal effects of e-bike incentives, and e-bikes themselves, on travel behavior and quality of life. We will collect data through a panel survey of lottery participants before and after vouchers are awarded, with those who do not receive vouchers serving as a control group. . We will additionally provide study participants with access to OpenPATH, a real-time smartphone app developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to track changes in driving levels.

This study will examine how effective the use of a simulated model to teach ultrasound guided needle procedures for diagnosis and treatment in obstetrics, such as amniocentesis and fetal shunt placement.

The death of a parent is a traumatic event for their surviving co-parents and minor children, yet there is a lack of resources and support for widowed parents. The study aims to (1) better understand the reasons that parents express interest in the Widowed Parent Moms' or Dads' Groups, and (2) receive parents' feedback on the program.

This study seeks to form a better understanding of factors that affect researchers' decisions regarding whether and how to measure and report fidelity of implementation strategies. Findings may provide insight into the significant decline in implementation strategy fidelity measurement/reporting quality over time and elucidate ways to improve fidelity measurement of implementation strategies going forward.
