Ultrasound Delphi Project

The goal of this project is to bring together experts in family medicine and point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) to create a standardized POCUS curriculum that can be taught in medical school. The experts will help us figure out which parts of a POCUS curriculum are important, practical, and useful. We'll use information from this Delphi study to guide our decisions.

Barrett's Esophagus Biorepository

The purpose of this research study is to learn more about Barrett's Esophagus and esophageal cancer by collecting data and samples (blood and tissue) for a biorepository. A biorepository is a large bank of specimens and data that are stored indefinitely and may be shared with other researchers.

Evaluating Cancer Screening Events at North Carolina Community Health Centers

The goal of this study is to help CAPRICORN understand the needs of primary care clinics in North Carolina that provide free or low-cost healthcare. We will focus on how these clinics can offer cancer screening events to people in the community. To do this, we will create and use a survey to learn more about the needs of 3-4 clinics in North Carolina. Our findings will be shared in a report that includes suggestions for how CAPRICORN can grow over the next five years.

Growing a Larger Community

The purpose of this research study is to understand how Karen housekeepers at UNC use produce grown by the Carolina Community Garden. We are interested in what vegetables you eat, if you have preferences for new varieties, and how you cook them. We are also interested in the social activities that accompany the cooking and eating of this produce. For example, with whom do you eat regularly? Who cooks in your household? Do you eat with non-family members?
