Use of a 3 Tesla and 7 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging Systems to Image Normal Volunteers

The purpose of this study is to determine which new magnetic resonance sequences provide better, faster and more useful information. A sequence is a distinct method of obtaining magnetic resonance (MR) images. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exam is made up of many different imaging sequences. These new sequences will be implemented on either on a 3 Tesla (3T) MR system, a 7 Tesla (7T) MR system (single- or multi- transmit), or both. Since the signal-to-noise ratio for MR images is highly dependent on the magnetic field strength, the anticipated signal-to-noise will be 7T greater than 3T and 3T greater than 1.5T systems. The 3T MR system is FDA approved whereas the 7T system is not FDA approved, but is built to the same standards as other FDA approved scanners. In addition, the FDA has approved magnetic field strength up to 8T for human imaging. Participants will be told ahead

Pharmacy based diabetic eye screening

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of blindness in working age Americans. Vision loss due to DR can be prevented with early detection and treatment. However, the rate of retinopathy screening remains low. Pharmacies are often a patient's primary point of contact with the health profession. Hence, this study aims to determine the feasibility of integrating a portable handheld camera for eye screening without the need for pupil dilation at pharmacies located in rural and urban areas of North Carolina. The average consumer visits a pharmacy 35 times per year, making pharmacies an ideal setting for evaluating this DR screening model. Additionally, we will also assess the feasibility of integrating an automated grading system for retinal images. If successful, results from this study can be used to increase and improve community-based health care by integrating pharmacies and clinical care.

Exploring Obese Patients' Perspectives on the Impact of Obesity on Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes: A Qualitative Approach

Obesity is a significant public health concern that has been associated with a range of dangerous pregnancy outcomes. However, the lived experiences and perspectives of obese individuals regarding these outcomes are underexplored. Understanding how patients feel the relationship between obesity and their pregnancy experiences can provide valuable insights for healthcare providers, inform patient education, and improve prenatal care strategies.

Registry for Adults with Lymphoma

The purpose of this research study is to create a Lymphoma Registry of patients who are willing to complete the study's comprehensive assessment. The assessment is designed to gather information on memory, nutritional status, mental health, and level social support. It is also designed to understand how well you carry out your day to day activities and to briefly describe what other medical conditions you may have. This assessment will help your health care team determine your "functional age" (the age you function at) as compared to how many years old you are. We will also ask you to complete questionnaires that ask questions about your personal health history, such as exercise and smoking,
