Analyze how usage of a visualization tool that provides data quality analysis can affect a data scientist's workflow during data preprocessing
We want to learn why and how some people on dialysis form blood clots in the dialysis machine or in their fistula. Most patients on dialysis receive a blood thinner called heparin to prevent these clots, but heparin can sometimes cause bleeding. We would like to know if safer medications could work in preventing these clots. This study is only about learning more information from blood samples and does not involve treatment.
Some people living with HIV can have chronic lung and breathing issues. We want to learn if the immune system of the nose may lead to these problems. We will collect a sample from the nose using a small strip of paper put in the nose for two minutes. This sample will be tested for inflammation and bacteria. We will do this test in 150 people with HIV and 100 without HIV. We will ask 100 people to come back in 6 months to do the sample again.
The purpose of this research study is to explore how people respond to and judge various scenarios needing emotional support. This will require writing responses to vignettes and answering questions about it. This study may touch on sensitive issues like grief and minor sexual assault. This study may not provide fully accurate information at time. The debriefing form will include complete information of the study. Your part in this study will take approximately 10 minutes.
The purpose of this study is to understand the planning and implementation process of the Summer EBT program in Rhode Island and North Carolina.
This project is studying the effect of pediatric care coordination on the behavioral health of children and parents.
Systematic reviews (SRs) of healthcare interventions should identify patient safety concerns; however, many SRs are designed to assess benefits, and preliminary evidence suggests that conclusions about harms in SRs might not be trustworthy. Using >19,000 SRs of drugs for which we have full texts (including >4,000 overlapping reviews), and using innovative methods for analysis (e.g., natural language processing), we will examine whether information about safety in SRs is consistent, whether SRs address safety concerns identified using real-world evidence, and whether SRs are consistent with safety information on drug labels. Based on best evidence, including findings from this study, we will develop contemporary guidance for synthesizing and reporting safety information in SRs.
This study will test how effectively changes in lung structure and function can be detected with a new inhaled gas combined with a MRI.
This Incubation Project is motivated by ethical questions around policies and practices concerning research engagement with U.S. Indigenous Peoples whose tribes are unrecognized by the federal government. The pilot study includes activities aimed at (1) elucidating their perspectives on environmental research ethics, (2) evaluating the breadth and depth of current environmental research engagements within their communities, and (3) assessing their perspectives and gathering feedback on emerging research policies.
We are investigating whether having higher levels of a growth mindset influences job attitudes and commitment to one's workplace, and whether a growth mindset results in different reactions to employment situations presented.
