GET SET - Endocrine Therapy Medication Adherence Study

The GET SET Study is a research study for women who take medicines to help keep breast cancer from coming back. These medicines are called endocrine therapies and include Tamoxifen and Arimidex. The study will test different kinds of extra support programs, such as daily text message reminders and telephone counseling sessions, for women taking these medicines. We want to learn which support programs help women take their medicine as it is prescribed by their doctor.

Understanding Lupus disease pathways

We want to see if an antibody we created can help reduce symptoms of Lupus by restoring function in immune cells affected by Lupus. We will be taking blood as well as reviewing medical records and current and past disease activity.

Angelman Syndrome and CVI

The purpose of this project is to complete the complete CVI Range assessment (Roman-Lantzy, 2018) and the Communication Matrix (Rowland, 2011) on a group of children with Angelman syndrome. The results will increase understandings of Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) and its relationship to symbolic communication in this population.

Effective Peer Teaching In Computer Science

The study will analyze data about how students use instructional resources to discover how the use of those resources relate to student demographics (i.e., who uses which resources and to what extent) and learning outcomes. The resources under study are specifically those involving peer instructors such as learning assistant-led recitations and office hours, peer tutoring, and interactions with peers on instructional communication platforms such as Sakai and Piazza.

Brain Development and Behavior in Preadolescence

We are no longer recruiting for this study. With the participants we do have, we obtain MRI images of the child's brain and administer cognitive behavioral assessments every 2 years. We are looking at brain structure, along with the assessments, to hopefully find biomarkers that predict mental illness.

EPA Framework in Dental Hygiene

The purpose of this study is to develop and refine an entrusable professional activities (EPA) framework that can be utilized nationwide by dental hygiene programs. EPAs will help to enhance the standardization of practice among graduating clinicians in dental hygiene. By utilizing an EPA framework this will help to bring a legitimacy to the clinicians' ability to provide appropriate patient care to their communities.

Studying Diabetic Kidney Disease in Kidney Biopsies

About two in five people who are undergoing a kidney biopsy have diabetes. Diabetes is a common finding in people with kidney disease, but little is known about the specific ways in which diabetes affects kidney function. The purpose of this study is to gather two groups of patients with diabetes who undergo a kidney biopsy in order to create a source of information with genetic, blood, and urine samples available, by which researchers can study how diabetes affects kidney function.
