The goal of this study is to gather information about people with a chromosome 15 condition. The information will be linked to information from other studies in the LADDER database. Identifying information will be removed. Researchers will be able to use the information to try to improve the quality of life for people living with these conditions.
This study has two objectives. The first is to determine how authentic assessment is currently used in dental school curriculums. The second is to assess what potential barriers might limit the implementation of authentic assessment in more courses. Course directors will be surveyed on their use and barriers to use of authentic assessment to address these objectives.
We will identify changes in the numbers, seriousness, and outcomes of breast cancers diagnosed during the COVID-19 pandemic, compared to before the pandemic.
The purpose of this study is to lay the groundwork for a pragmatic trial and real-world implementation of Mouth Care Without a Battle (MCWB) for assisted living (AL) residents with dementia and their caregivers. The aims are to refine MCWB for AL, and examine research efficacy (working with a research dental hygienist) and real-world efficacy (working with community public health dental hygienists) to train personal care aides in 48 AL communities across North Carolina to provide mouth care.
To assess the nature of ideological intuitions citizens use when making informed guesses about other people's political issue positions. In other words, what do people conclude about each other's wider system of political beliefs upon learning that a conversation partner supports (or opposes) a certain policy position or regulation (e.g. support for renewable energy investments, opposition to the death penalty). Intuitions about wider sets of political beliefs may be relevant to political decision making (e.g. voting, candidate appraisal) and in everyday social interactions (deciding which friend-circles to enter, whom to associate with, which clubs, associations to join, ect). The goal of this study is to gain an overview of the prevalence and relative strength of ideological intuitions for a set of 16 different political attitudes and identity markers.
This study asks participants about their pre-pandemic, current, and expected post-pandemic behaviors to better understand long-term societal changes that may occur as a result of the pandemic. The study focuses on transportation-related outcomes.
Our goal is to conduct a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the effects of Pharm-SAVES suicide prevention gatekeeper training for community pharmacy staff communication behaviors, knowledge, and self-efficacy.
To evaluate the accuracy of a new software in the prediction of growth and rupture of aortic aneurysms.
The purpose of this research is to improve early diagnosis of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) and through the implementation of cascade screening, or family genetic testing for FH. To identify areas for improvement, we are recruiting stakeholders to participate in qualitative interviews. We will use this information to better understand barriers and facilitators for a specific diagnostic strategy called cascade screening. This strategy involves contacting family members to discuss their risk of having familial hypercholesterolemia and arranging for screening to check for very high cholesterol and genes associated with it. Once this tool has been implemented, we will conduct 20 more qualitative interviews to further understand barriers and facilitators to adoption of the diagnostic tool.
The purpose of this study is to assess the extent to which engaging teachers in iterative design processes with scientists increases their content knowledge of and self-efficacy for incorporating current biomedical science into their teaching. This study includes a professional development program with a teacher-driven curriculum development component.
