Advancing Equity through Multi-Campus Learning Communities

The primary purpose of this research is to share insights gained from developing and teaching a new, multi-campus course. We ask: what are the unique contributions and challenges of developing a cross-campus, collaborative learning model for teaching planning and equity related topics? How and why did the zoning for equity collaborative learning model evolve over time? What are the lessons learned and takeaways from such a pedagogical innovation? We answer these questions by analyzing the following data: archived course materials and anonymous student evaluations, transcripts of the guided discussions among faculty who developed and offered the course, and transcripts of the interviews of former-students who took the class.

Neuroeducation for JJ Professionals

Most professionals working with JJ-involved youth have little understanding of how neuroscience and brain development can shape effective strategies for treatment. This gap in knowledge can lead to misconceptions about adolescent behavior, compromising the effectiveness of their approaches. There is also a gap in the connection between scientific research and practical application within the JJ system. This gap often results in the use of cookie-cutter programs that rarely address individual drivers of problem behavior. Enhancing the knowledge of JJ professionals about brain development promises to foster more informed and effective approaches to JJ-involved youth by equipping professionals with better understanding of root causes and drivers of problem behaviors and helping to determine more effective treatment plans. The program proposed here bridges this gap begins by developing a manual for JJ professionals about how brain science can be useful in addressing the needs of youth in the system.

Support Group for Gender Diverse Autistic Young Adults

Many autistic young adults also identify as gender-diverse, meaning they may not feel like the gender they were assigned at birth. These individuals face unique challenges, including feeling pressured to hide parts of who they are, struggling to find support, and dealing with high levels of stress. Right now, there aren't many programs designed specifically to help autistic gender-diverse young adults feel safe, understood, and supported. This study is exploring a support group called the SHIFT Guide (Supporting Holistic Identity and Future Thriving). This guide is designed to help autistic gender-diverse young adults connect with others, explore their identities, and develop coping strategies in a safe and affirming space. The goal is to see if the SHIFT Guide is helpful, easy to use, and meets the needs of participants. By learning from this study, we hope to improve support for autistic gender-diverse young adults and create more spaces where they can

Religion and Organ Donation Registration Decisions in Black Christian Communities Study

This study explores how religious beliefs influence decisions about organ donation in Black Christian communities. Many Black Americans need organ transplants, but donation rates in these communities are lower than in others. Religious beliefs may play a role in these decisions, but past research has not fully explored how people learn about their religion's views on organ donation or how these beliefs affect their choices. By interviewing Black Christians, this study aims to better understand their thoughts, experiences, and concerns about organ donation. The goal is to help create better ways to share information about organ donation that respect religious beliefs and encourage informed decision-making.

Italy public opinion and globalization study

The goal of this study is to examine the determinants of individuals' policy preferences as well as their attitudes toward international political institutions. This survey includes two embedded survey experiments, each examining a different aspect of individuals' preferences. The first experiment examines how information about depopulation risk affects individuals' immigration policy preferences by randomly varying whether subjects receive information about depopulation. The second experiment examines how the expansion of an international organization affects individuals' attitudes toward international organizations, as well as their attitudes toward member and non-member states. Overall, this study aims to understand the determinants of individuals' attitudes toward policies related to various aspects of globalization.
