The purpose of the NC Registry for Brain Health is to establish a mailing list of people who are interested in learning about ongoing research studies in North Carolina that are designed to improve brain health and prevent conditions such as Alzheimer's disease (AD). The purpose of this study is to implant abnormal human parathyroid glands into mice to be used to test agents that might allow better imaging of parathyroid glands. This may improve the surgery that is sometimes required for abnormal parathyroid glands.

The purpose of this study is to follow patients who were diagnosed with HIV-1 infection during this acute infection stage to look at clinical and laboratory markers of HIV infection, over time. Individuals joining this study may or may not be on treatment for their HIV. No treatment is provided in this study. Participants may be asked to provide blood samples on this study.
