Our researchers are interviewing Mental Health First Aid training participants (MHFAiders) at UNC-CH to understand their experiences and thoughts related to the program, in order to better evaluate and cater to the needs of our university and community.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of an 8-week yoga mindfulness meditation to identify the relationship between mindfulness yoga and stress, depression, and anxiety. Participants: Forty- four women sports student-athletes ages 18 and over in their first two years of undergraduate study at ACC member universities within a four-hour drive of the home institution. This will allow for the delivery of PAUSE-Yoga materials. Participants will complete a survey prior to the program with demographic information and the following scales: Academic Identity Measurement Scale, Athlete Identity Measurement Scale, Exercise Identity Scale, Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale, The International Adjustment Disorder Questionnaire, Transition Plan, Subjective Physical and Mental Health, Social Support, and Resource List. Another survey will be administered post-program with the same scales as the pre-program. Eight, 45-minute Zoom yoga sessions will be completed over 8 weeks for the PAUSE- Yoga group.

This will help us understand how to better integrate mental health treatments into medical care. We will interview those involved in health care and district health decisions to understand the context of mental health care in Malawi and how we can adapt LOCI to best serve Malawian health leaders.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the benefits of entrepreneurship training for formerly incarcerated individuals. This is important because mass incarceration is a growing problem in the U.S., inmates experience challenges in reentering the society and gaining employment, and entrepreneurship training promises to be a potential solution to this issue. The study will investigate the specific benefits of an entrepreneurship program post release.

You are being asked to participate in this research study because you have a type of tumor called a Central Nervous System (CNS) tumor, and you are scheduled to have surgery to remove this tumor. The study team wants to use left-over tumor samples from this surgery to study your tumor and test new ways to fight it.
