The purpose of this study is to collect samples from patients with GI conditions that are coming to UNC for upper endoscopy as part of their clinical care. Samples will be stored and used for research to learn more about GI conditions.
The purpose of this research study is to better understand how to adapt a multi-level leadership coaching implementation strategy called Leadership and Organizational Change for Implementation (LOCI). This will help us understand how to better integrate mental health treatments into medical care. We will interview those involved in health care and district health decisions to understand the context of mental health care in Malawi and how we can adapt LOCI to best serve Malawian health leaders.
The immediate purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of different text conditions on reading comprehension amongst adolescents and young adults with with intellectual and developmental disabilities who read below the 4th grade level. A secondary purpose is to evaluate how participants visually attend to the different text conditions and how visual attention relates to reading comprehension.
The purpose of this study is to discover the practice pattern of surgeons who have been board-certified in complex general surgical oncology. The study will help determine the best approach for re-certification examinations.
The purpose of this study is to create a biobank by collecting and storing specimens, such as blood and tissue, along with medical information such as demographics and treatment, from a large group of patients with pancreatic tumors. This biobank can then be used by future studies focused on pancreatic tumors.
This study aims to evaluate student perceptions of the newly implemented Objective Structured Clinical Examination during their Application Phase Pediatrics rotation.
This project seeks to study the history and present impacts of UNC on surrounding communities. The purpose is to understand the impact that the university has had historically and in the present, for instance on Native communities whose land UNC resides on (or has profited from the sale of), and people who were enslaved from or who otherwise have contributed or contribute now to the building and maintenance of the university. This will be part of the classes of Danielle Purifoy and Sara Smith, where students will take up questions generated by community members. It will also include undergraduate and graduate students who wish to participate.
This study has two objectives. The first is to determine how authentic assessment is currently used in dental school curriculums. The second is to assess what potential barriers might limit the implementation of authentic assessment in more courses. Course directors will be surveyed on their use and barriers to use of authentic assessment to address these objectives.
