ACC Student-Athlete Transition

There exists limited empirical evidence to inform the structure and content of the current NCAA exit interviews which restricts their impact on post-career health and well-being. This study hopes to bridge that gap and to understand the student-athlete transition experience including outcomes of mental, physical, social, and occupational functioning. In this aim, we are inviting you to participate in an evidence-based, survey addendum to the standard of care exit interview. A total of 120 individuals will be invited to participate in this portion of the study. A subgroup of 30 participants will be invited to participate in a follow-up interview. If you are selected for follow-up, we will reach out to you in no more than 60 days after the completion of this survey.

Land Back Abolition Project

This project seeks to study the history and present impacts of UNC on surrounding communities. The purpose is to understand the impact that the university has had historically and in the present, for instance on Native communities whose land UNC resides on (or has profited from the sale of), and people who were enslaved from or who otherwise have contributed or contribute now to the building and maintenance of the university. This will be part of the classes of Danielle Purifoy and Sara Smith, where students will take up questions generated by community members. It will also include undergraduate and graduate students who wish to participate.

AMC-114 - Paclitaxel or Liposomal Doxorubicin for HIV-positive Persons with Kaposi Sarcoma

This study is being done to answer the following question: Do two different anti-cancer drugs, paclitaxel (PTX) and pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) have similar effects on treating KS in PLWH in sub-Saharan Africa? We are doing this study because we want to find out if one of these approaches, PTX or PLD, is better than the other for KS. Both drugs may be given as part of the usual approach for your KS. The usual approach is defined as care most people get for KS.
