To assess the nature of ideological intuitions citizens use when making informed guesses about other people's political issue positions. In other words, what do people conclude about each other's wider system of political beliefs upon learning that a conversation partner supports (or opposes) a certain policy position or regulation (e.g. support for renewable energy investments, opposition to the death penalty). Intuitions about wider sets of political beliefs may be relevant to political decision making (e.g. voting, candidate appraisal) and in everyday social interactions (deciding which friend-circles to enter, whom to associate with, which clubs, associations to join, ect). The goal of this study is to gain an overview of the prevalence and relative strength of ideological intuitions for a set of 16 different political attitudes and identity markers.

No guidelines or interventions for patients and their family caregivers exist to support patient adherence to a new medication (venetoclax) and their quality of life. Our research team seeks to understand the real experience and care needs of patients and their family caregivers with the new AML treatment. With the information we learn from this study, we will be able to develop an effective support program for patients with AML and their family caregivers to manage their symptoms at home and improve their quality of life.

The purpose of this research is to study the performance of a device called PrevisEA, an investigational device not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This research is sponsored by the maker of the PrevisEA device, Entac Medical Inc. This device listens to and records abdominal sounds which provides data that can help predict gastrointestinal impairment (GII). GII is a condition that is defined as the failure of oral re-feeding after abdominal surgery. This happens when any of the following events happen beyond 24-hours after abdominal surgery; • Vomiting • The need for your doctor to reverse the diet • The need for your doctor to place a nasogastric (NG) tube in you. A NG tube is a flexible rubber or plastic tube that is placed through the nose and down into the stomach. It can be used to carry food directly to the stomach.
i. Patient sitters provide 1:1 supervision to patients at risk of injury to themselves or others. As there are no existing national policies that define sitter responsibility, this responsibility is left to hospitals. Current policies largely utilize sitters to provide patient safety; however, sitters often find themselves in situations which require far more than safety skills, leading to ambiguity in the role. Through my project, I will explore the experiences of current sitters and ultimately use this data to create a more comprehensive training module that reduces the ambiguity of the sitter role.
