Diversity and inclusion offices use various communication strategies as part of their work to create a more welcoming and inclusive campus environment. This research involves interviewing diversity and inclusion professionals at universities in the Southeastern US to better understand their primary goals, decision-making processes, and communication efforts.
We are engaging 12 EMS providers throughout North Carolina in a focused training and education program meant to improve EMS pediatric care.

Creating a theoretical framework for wellness
This study seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of work support services which are offered to residents of public housing in Charlotte, North Carolina. Through data analysis and interview collection, this study hopes to examine how cities can best combat unemployment brought on by the pandemic among public housing residents.
The purpose of this study is to pilot a qualitative aim for an eventual proposal. We will series of semi-structured interviews of those well-positioned to describe the effects of disasters on the health care system caring for LTC residents. These potential interviewees include managers of rural LTC facilities, hospitals, and other health care services in the community as well as other key informants, such as area agencies on aging. By understanding the effects of the disaster on the healthcare system, we can translate patterns of care utilization and health outcome data following natural disaster events to design mitigation strategies to minimize the disruption to vulnerable LTC residents.
The goal of this study is to explore the beliefs that people living in the United States have about equality. The study is particularly interested in the increasingly popular idea that people should relate to one another as equals, and therefore some status differences among people may undermine equality.
We are working to translate and validate a survey that looks at symptom management and quality of life for patients in Malawi getting palliative care treatment to make sure that the survey is applicable, relatable, and understandable for these patients.
This project aims to advance our awareness of disparities in independency experienced in the operating room by surgical residents. We hope this will clarify important areas for future interventions and help remove bias from the educational experience of surgical residents.
