Lumosa Therapeutibs BRIGHT AIS trial

This study will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of a new intravenous (IV) medication (LT3001) for adult patients who have had a stroke. This new medication is designed to restore blood flow to the area of the brain affected, and reduce inflammation in the brain. Patients who agree to be in this study will receive 6 doses of the IV study drug while in the hospital. Patients will have extra labs drawn, head imaging studies and will be followed by the study team for 90 days after their hospital admission.

Health Care Access, Financial Toxicity, and Quality of Life for Rural NC Cancer Patients

We are conducting this study to better understand the relationship between access to care, financial stress and health related quality of life among cancer patients in NC who live in rural areas. We will be interviewing 30 rural cancer patients to learn about their cancer experience and we will be reviewing previously completed surveys about their distress and coping behaviors.

Evaluation of awareness, training, and implementation of pharmacist-initiated hormonal contraception in North Carolina.

The purpose of this project is to evaluate the following: 1. Are registered pharmacists in North Carolina aware of their authority as immunizing pharmacists to dispense, deliver or administer self-administered oral or transdermal contraceptives to a patient; 2. Of pharmacists that have registered for and completed the NC hormonal contraceptive training, how many have implemented this service for patients; and 3. Complete semi-structured interviews of pharmacists that have or have not implemented the service to understand their motivations and perceptions of and ability to expand access to hormonal contraception and/or address barriers to implementation.

Mixed-Methods Study of Electronic Patient Reported Outcomes (ePROs) Usability Among Thoracic Surgery Patients

This study aims to evaluate the usability of the symptom monitoring tool and understand the barriers to completing symptom assessments among patients with chest surgery. Using a symptom monitoring tool, patients will directly report their symptoms to their care team by completing electronic patient-reported outcome (ePRO) assessments.
