Land Back Abolition Project

This project seeks to study the history and present impacts of UNC on surrounding communities. The purpose is to understand the impact that the university has had historically and in the present, for instance on Native communities whose land UNC resides on (or has profited from the sale of), and people who were enslaved from or who otherwise have contributed or contribute now to the building and maintenance of the university. This will be part of the classes of Danielle Purifoy and Sara Smith, where students will take up questions generated by community members. It will also include undergraduate and graduate students who wish to participate.

EPA Framework in Dental Hygiene

The purpose of this study is to develop and refine an entrusable professional activities (EPA) framework that can be utilized nationwide by dental hygiene programs. EPAs will help to enhance the standardization of practice among graduating clinicians in dental hygiene. Impact of Text Conditions on Comprehension

The immediate purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of different text conditions on reading comprehension amongst adolescents and young adults with with intellectual and developmental disabilities who read below the 4th grade level. A secondary purpose is to evaluate how participants visually attend to the different text conditions and how visual attention relates to reading comprehension.
