The project is developed to understand the clinical impact of a novel wearable sensor on pressure ulcer monitoring among lower limb amputation. This project includes three major testing procedures: 1) using able-body participants to demonstrate the effectiveness of the sensing system 2) using transtibial amputees without pressure ulcers to evaluate the performance of the sensing system in the challenging environment inside the socket 3) using transtibial amputees with diagnosed pressure ulcer to step up a clinical standard to use this sensing system.

We are asking people about their first experience paying for lactation consultant support and/or double electric breast pumps and other lactation supplies once home from the hospital. We want to understand how the cost of lactation support is impacting people meeting their lactation goals.

We are interested in getting feedback from parents on how we can modify measures that assess parents'/caregivers' health, parenting methods, and children's communication skills to make them more suitable for use in China, Guatemala, or India. We would like to hear your thoughts on how we can change these tools to make them more relevant and effective in China, Guatemala, or India!

We are interviewing physicians working in corrections to better understand professional issues they face in providing care in these settings.

Black women have worse breast cancer outcomes than White women. Physical activity can help cancer survivors live longer, feel better, and stay healthier. However, there aren't many health promotion programs to help Black women diagnosed with breast cancer become physically active, feel better, and stay healthy. The purpose of this study is to understand what kind of health promotion programs Black women diagnosed with breast cancer prefer and how different things affect their health and lifestyle. The insights gained from this study will help develop a customized health promotion program for Black women diagnosed with breast cancer.

The purpose of this research study is to take an in-depth look at the North Carolina Collaborative for Mathematics Learning (NC2ML), a design-based research-practice partnership that has sustained for nearly a decade. The proposed study will explore the tools and methods that supported interaction between participants and why participants have remained engaged in the partnership for the last eight years.

The overall goal of the UNC CFAR is to support research of HIV infection carried out by UNC CFAR affiliated investigators and collaborators outside UNC. In order to achieve the goal of providing cutting edge research and testing services, the UNC CFAR will use samples of blood, hair, urine, oral and genital secretions from HIV seropositive and seronegative donors to evaluate, validate and quality control current and future assays.

Conventional wisdom in the press has held that the Democratic party, whose base includes younger, marginal voters, benefits electorally from lower costs of voting. The issue of voting access is highly polarized, with Democratic politicians championing reforms that would make it easier to register and vote, and Republican politicians opposing these policies on the ground that they would lead to fraudulent voting. Mass partisans reflect this divide as well. To what degree is the difference in partisan support for increased access to voting reflective of instrumental concerns over which party benefits, rather than principled belief in expanding access to voting? We conduct an experiment to test this question, leveraging a recent shift in the propensity of Democrats to excel in low-turnout elections and the changing composition of unregistered voters. We are conducting a survey of people out drinking at bars and restaurants in downtown Chapel Hill to learn more about their thoughts and experiences with fake IDs. We are then giving an ID scanner to businesses that sell alcohol in Chapel Hill and Carrboro to help them identify fake IDs. After a 7-month study period, we will interview staff members at those businesses to learn about their experiences using the technology.
