This study trains health care providers in a children's asthma clinic to talk to families about concerns about the financial cost of asthma care. We will examine whether training providers increases the number of cost conversations and families' satisfaction with care.
We are examining literacy instruction in a rural school through interviews, observations, and focus groups with relevant stakeholders.
The goal of this project is to develop an OSCE to evaluate the education that anesthesiology resident physicians receive as part of their first (of two) regional anesthesia rotations. The exam will test resident knowledge and skills of regional anesthesiology and assess competency with the main regional anesthesiology blocks outlined in the ABA content outline for resident training. This will provide valuable feedback for the participant about their gaps of knowledge and allow the regional anesthesiology division of the UNC Department of Anesthesiology to assess resident educational curriculum and address any topics that need to be emphasized.

We are investigating how individuals' beliefs relate to their attitudes towards various standup comedy jokes. We are conducting this research to understand differences in individuals' opinions and perhaps shed light on disagreements in popular culture.
Many genetic counselors work at universities where academic publishing is important for career advancement. In other disciplines, writing groups have been used to increase writing productivity and confidence in writing and publications skills. There is a lack of information about writing group use among genetic counselors. This study aims to understand the goals and experiences of genetic counselors participating in a Summer writing group.
(1) To translate a remote developmental assessment into Spanish with feedback from the Spanish-speaking community (2) To try out the assessment with Latinx infants who are showing risk signs of a developmental disability. After completing the assessment, we will interview families about their experiences. We hope that this information will help us improve remote assessments for Latinx families to better match their culture and language.
To find out whether physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists and other health care practitioners have different motivations for training and personal health outcomes.
We are asking to interview South Asian and Southeast Asians living in the United States on their experiences with birth, postpartum care, and menstrual management. We want to know how culture and religion can impact how we experience these life changing moments and how the medical team can best support South Asian and Southeast Asian patients during these times.
