We are trying to understand how agricultural workers in Southeastern North Carolina feel about managing their diabetes. We hope to help participants feel more comfortable in understanding their diabetes and how to better control their blood sugar.

This study compares two different surgical tubes and post-op ointments as treatment for one type of glaucoma, an ocular disorder in which the pressure inside the eye is too high.

This project explores the stories and narratives about how gardening and communing in a shared space (ex: community gardens) can enrich communal care, resistance, and joy.

Hurricanes and other extreme storms often cause damage in North Carolina. This study collects data from communities and households to understand the short and long term impacts of these events and how individuals, families, and communities respond to and recover from them. The data will help us assess the full costs of extreme events and what families need in their aftermath.

You are being asked to participate in this study because you have an appointment at UNC Urology, and you have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The purpose of this research study is to learn how either cryosurgery or prostatectomy procedures change the inflammatory response within the body. To do this, we will draw blood and analyze it for signs of inflammation before and after your standard of care procedure.

Belatacept is a drug that helps kidney transplant recipients by preventing the body from rejecting the new organ. We want to compare how well belatacept works compared to the commonly used drug tacrolimus. To do this, we plan to study people who got kidney transplants in the United States from 2011 to 2020. By using two large databases, the United States Renal Data System, and the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients, we aim to understand how belatacept is used in real life. We are also interested in comparing how effective and safe is belatacept compared with tacrolimus after one year of administration. We will look at outcomes like how long the transplanted kidney will work, how long will the kidney transplant recipients live, how well your kidneys will work, the risk of organ rejection, and certain side effects to happen after transplant like blood cancer.

To evaluate surgeon's use and comfort with video visits for surgical clinics.

The purpose of this research study is to determine how bictegravir (BIC), also known as GS 9883, and lenacapavir (LEN) affect the HIV-1 infection in your body and compare it with current standard treatment regimens.

The goal of this project is to understand how community pharmacies work collaboratively with patients to reduce the harm that opioid misuse can cause. Investigators are also seeking to understand what challenges community pharmacies face when trying to decrease harm from opioids by supporting safe use of opioid medications and access to medications for opioid use disorder treatment and opioid overdose reversal. Information gathering efforts are being focused on community pharmacies that serve racial and ethnic minority communities in rural areas. Triangle CERSI scientists are working collaboratively with the FDA to survey and interview pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, patients, and other community members to collect and analyze data needed to better understand community pharmacy challenges in these areas. Ultimately, investigators seek to explore effective ways to reduce the harm from opioid misuse among underserved communities.

The purpose of this research study is to better understand the characteristics and workforce of school-based behavioral health (SBBH) programs across the U.S. in order to identify the resources needed to expand these services.
