The Johnston County Health Study is a long-term research study based in Johnston County, North Carolina. The purpose of the study is to measure how common osteoarthritis, pain, and disability are in the county, as well as its impact on individuals and the community. This is important because arthritis affects over 54 million adults in the United States and frequently occurs with other health conditions, like diabetes and heart disease. In our study, we are examining how osteoarthritis is related to other health conditions, such as injury, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. We also want to know how osteoarthritis and other health conditions differ by gender and race/ethnicity.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the health of former women's soccer players.
Our study seeks to understand the patient outcomes of individuals struggling with social needs and whom have a diagnosis of a chronic illness.

The purpose of this study is to understand how your local community affects your health. Our overall goal is to help Black adults live healthier lives and prevent strokes. In this study, we want to learn more about how the separation of races in local communities, transportation access, and community resources affect the risk of stroke for Black adults. Participation in this study will help us to develop strategies that encourage healthy lifestyle practices like exercise in your local community.
The purpose is to assess comprehension and acceptability of a 17-item Diabetes Distress Scale among Dominican adults living with diabetes. We will do this by interviewing Dominicans with type 2 diabetes to determine if the questions as written in the questionnaire are appropriate for use in their country. It is important to test out if questions are appropriate before applying them in a future study because poorly understood questions can introduce mistakes in the data collection, analysis, and interpretation processes.
