Assessing MyChart Usability

We would like to study patient perceptions regarding the usability and satisfaction of the MyChart patient portals at UNC Health Care as well as comparing the consenting process between in-person and online consent sessions. This is done through a semi- structured interview and brief surveys. This study should last less than one hour.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

What will be asked of you :

1 online survey via email. Potential for 1 on-site consent, interview, and survey administration.

Incentive :

$15 for initial visit, $15 for follow-up

In-person visits : 1
Phone or online visits : 1
Total length of participation : 30 days

Looking for Healthy Volunteers

Requirements for healthy volunteers are different than for those with a specific condition. If you are interested in becoming a healthy volunteer for this study, use the below categories to determine if you are able to participate.

Able to participate :

  • Have had an appointment at a UNC hospital or clinic within past 3 months
  • Has used MyChart
  • Is 18 years or older
  • Speaks English
  • Has access to a computer with a microphone and camera

Not eligible if :

  • None
