Stress Regulation During the Postpartum Period

The purpose of this study is to learn more about how stress affects how you pursue everyday goals after childbirth.

  • 22 years ~ 45 years

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

All study activities can be done in the comfort of your own home. You will be asked to complete a 30-minute, online questionnaire and a Zoom-recorded, 10-minute free-play activity with your child. If applicable, you will be asked to take part in a brief (approximately 15-20 minute) Zoom-recorded interview.

Incentives

$25 for questionnaire and free-play session completion, plus an additional $10 for interview completion

Looking for Healthy Volunteers

Requirements for healthy volunteers are different than for those with a specific condition. If you are interested in becoming a healthy volunteer for this study, use the below categories to determine if you are able to participate.

Able to participate:

  • You are a woman between the ages of 22-45, who is approximately 6-months postpartum.
  • You are able to complete a written survey and verbal interview in English.
  • This study will enroll women with and without postpartum depression.

Not eligible if:

  • You have been diagnosed with a psychiatric condition other than postpartum depression.
  • You have current suicidal ideation or psychosis.
  • You have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and/or chronic pain condition.
  • You are pregnant.
