The aim of this study is to learn more about the quality of life and cancer outcomes in low-risk elderly breast cancer patients. Participants in this study will be randomly assigned to either accelerated partial breast irradiation or endocrine therapy. Both treatment options have been widely used. This is a hybrid decentralized study where some if not all assessments may be performed close to your home.
Patients will be asked to complete up to 3 sets of questionnaires. The study consists of 2 different treatments. Group 1 will be randomly assigned to receive accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) alone. This will include radiation delivered every other day to location of your lumpectomy. Group 2 will receive endocrine therapy for 5 years or more.
