Parkinson's Disease Genetic Registry

This is a genetic registry study aimed at developing a central location to store Parkinson's Disease genetic data for future research use.

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

This study will consist of 2 visits. During the first visit, you will meet with a study team member to provide a blood or saliva sample that will be sent to a genetic testing lab. During the second visit, you will undergo genetic counseling to receive your results.

1-2.5 hours

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You meet the criteria for probable diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease
  • You are at least 18 years old and willing to undergo genetic testing
  • You are able to give full informed consent
  • You can perform all necessary study activities

Not eligible if:

  • You are diagnosed with an atypical parkinsonian disorder
  • You have received a blood transfusion in the past 3 months
  • You have active hematologic malignancies, such as leukemia or lymphoma
  • You have had a bone marrow transplant in the past 5 years
