INShore: is the drug obinutizumab helpful in children with nephrotic syndrome?

Nephrotic syndrome is a condition that causes swelling in the body (especially in the face, legs, and feet) and changes in the urine. In this study, we want to compare the effects of two different drugs (obinutuzumab and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF)) to see which works better for children with nephrotic syndrome.

What will be asked of you

Visits may include questionnaires, drug infusion, vital signs, physical exams, electrocardiogram (ECG), and urine and blood collection.

Incentives

$80 to $120/visit, depending on visit length, reimbursement of mileage or other transportation; parking coupons

13 visits up to week 52

Total length of participation:
1 year with optional extension up to week 148

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

2 to 25 years old
You have nephrotic syndrome with frequent relapses or steroid-dependent
You are in remission (trace or no protein on urine dipstick)
You've had one relapse in the last 6 months

Not eligible if:

You are pregnant or breastfeeding
You are having a transplant
You have had cancer in the past 5 years
