Stroke Patient/Caregiver Experience Study

We want to improve emergency stroke care across the state of North Carolina. We are doing this by gathering information from individuals like you about emergency stroke services. Your perspective as a stroke patient or caregiver to a stroke patient in North Carolina will help us identify challenges in stroke care and develop effective solutions for those challenges.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Location

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

Either as a stroke patient or caregiver to a stroke patient, you will be asked to participate in a 1-on-1 Zoom interview that will last about 30-40 minutes. During this time, you will be asked about stroke symptoms experienced, your response to those symptoms, and the care received from EMS responders and the hospital.

Total length of participation:
45-60 minutes

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You have experienced one or more strokes
  • You were a caregiver to someone who experienced one or more strokes

Not eligible if:

  • you have never previously had a stroke, or been caregiver to someone who had a stroke
  • are under 18 years old
