A study to test BI 764198 in people with a type of kidney disease called focal segmental glomerulosclerosis

This study is being done to see if the study drug, called BI 764198, may help people with your type of kidney disease called "FSGS" or focal segmental glomerulosclerosis. If you join this study, you may receive the study drug being tested BI 764198, or a placebo.

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 75 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Extended hours (M-F, early morning or evening)
  • In-home visits available
  • Visits can be combined with regular clinical appointments

What will be asked of you

You will be asked to take a pill each day for 12 weeks. At each study visit we will take your blood pressure, obtain blood and urine samples, and perform a physical exam. You will have an eye exam at the beginning and end of the study. We would also like for you to keep a study drug diary to write down how you are feeling.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You have had a kidney biopsy and were diagnosed with FSGS or Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis

Not eligible if:

  • Have not received a diagnosis of FSGS
  • Have uncontrolled hypertension
