Children's Brain Tumor Network (CBTN) Collection

The purpose of this study is to collect samples from people with abnormal cell growth or a related condition, including brain and nervous system tumors. This study will help researchers understand the causes of the abnormal cell growth in the brain and nervous system, which may help us develop new treatments.

  • 0 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Visits can be combined with regular clinical appointments

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

The study may involve one visit or a self-collection of samples if a blood sample, saliva, stool, urine, or buccal sample was not obtained at the time of your surgery. Your participation will last indefinitely with possibly one extra visit as mentioned.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You had or have abnormal cell growth or related conditions of the nervous system tumors
  • You are undergoing, or underwent, clinical surgery for the abnormal cell growth or related conditions or deceased
  • You are biological parent or biological relative of a child that is participating in the study.

Not eligible if:

  • You have no diagnosis of abnormal cell growth or related conditions of the nervous system
