The Impact of Social Determinants of Health on Sport-Related Concussion Care in Emerging Adults

The purpose of this research study is to describe emerging adults' experiences and athletic trainers' perceptions to provide context for sport-related concussion identification and care-seeking and how these factors may influence overall health following sport-related concussion.

What will be asked of you

If you participate in this study, you will complete one 30-minute survey at your convenience consisting of questions regarding your sport-participation history, demographics, concussion history, and concussion-reporting behaviors. If you are eligible and choose to be contacted for a follow-up interview you will be asked questions about your sport-related concussion history in greater depth during an interview conducted via Zoom that will las no more than 30 minutes.

Looking for Healthy Volunteers

Requirements for healthy volunteers are different than for those with a specific condition. If you are interested in becoming a healthy volunteer for this study, use the below categories to determine if you are able to participate.

Able to participate:

  • You are 18-24 years old
  • Have participated in an organized sport in the last 365 days

Not eligible if:

  • You are not fluent in English
