Improving chronic kidney disease in type 1 diabetes

This is a study for people with chronic kidney disease and type 1 diabetes. In this study, we want to learn more about the effectiveness and safety of a kidney drug called finerenone compared to a placebo.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

What will be asked of you

At each clinic visit, you will meet with members of the study team to discuss the tolerance of the study drug, labs will be drawn at each visit, a physical assessment will be completed, and the effectiveness of the study intervention will be discussed. The study will require lab draws, urinalysis, a 12 lead ECG, and the willingness to continue with study requirements.

Incentives

$100 for in clinic visits, healthcare team oversight of your health status, diabetes and kidney disease management

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You are 18 years of age or older
  • You have T1D, i.e. T1D continuously treated with insulin, started within one year from diagnosis.
  • Hemoglobin A1c at Screening <10%
  • You have a diagnosis of CKD

Not eligible if:

  • You have T2D
  • Your CKD is not caused by T1D.
  • You have had a kidney transplant
