What will be asked of you

If you participate in this study, you will receive a Fitbit activity tracker, a digital smart scale, and access to a private Discord server. You may be randomized to use a study web app to help you change your eating and activity behaviors, with weekly lessons, feedback messages, and text messages. You will be asked to complete a weight measurement on your scale at home and complete online questionnaires 4 times.  The entire 12-month program can be completed online; however, there is an option for a small group of people to visit our research centers in Chapel Hill, NC and Richmond, VA for additional measurements.

Incentives

$25 for completing measurements at baseline, $30 for 3 months measurements, $50 for 6 month measurements, and $75 for 12 month measurements. Participants who complete in-person measurements will receive $50 at baseline, $30 at 3 months, $75 at 6 months, and $75 at 12 months.
