AL Amyloidosis in Smoldering Multiple Myeloma Study

In this study, we want to see if certain genes are linked to a condition called AL amyloidosis. We want to see if these genes increase the risk of developing the condition in people with Smoldering Multiple Myeloma (SMM).

Age & Gender

  • 40 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Visits can be combined with regular clinical appointments

What will be asked of you

You will be asked to provide a one-time-only liquid bone marrow during your bone marrow procedure, and a peripheral blood draw. The study will also collect data from your medical records throughout your participation.

Total length of participation:
5 years

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You have been diagnosed with Smoldering Multiple Myeloma.
  • You have a dFLC greater than 23 mg/L.
  • You have an abnormal K::lambda FLC ratio.

Not eligible if:

  • You have a previous finding of amyloid in other biopsies.
