The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of the 3rd generation Oura Ring, a smart ring, during a 4-week trial. Additionally, this study will investigate if sleep and cardiovascular health outcomes change during a 4-week Oura Ring trial in middle-aged adults.
Your participation will last approximately 4 weeks and involve 3 visits to UNC, each lasting between 30 and 60 minutes. Study visits will take place at the UNC Health, Exercise And Lifestyle (HEAL) Lab located in Fetzer Hall. At the visits, you will complete anthropometric, body composition, and cardiovascular assessments in addition to questionnaires about health, demographics, sleep, physical activity, and the Oura Ring. Body composition will be assessed via a dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan. You will be asked to wear an Oura Ring for 4 week and complete 3 surveys remotely. After 4 weeks, you will return the Oura Ring.
Complimentary 4-week Oura Ring membership, access to smartphone application which provides insightful information about your overall health, sleep, and activity, and information about your body composition
