Chronic Pain Treatment Study

In this study, we want to find out if using light can help improve chronic pain and make people less sensitive to it.

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 65 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Extended hours (M-F, early morning or evening)

Location

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

This study involves study lightbulbs and daily flash surveys (~2 min). The study also involves an accelerometer device, quantitative sensory testing, and a questionnaire.

Total length of participation:
35 days

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You are diagnosed with fibromyalgia
  • You suffer from chronic widespread pain
  • You are willing to alter lighting levels in your place of residence
  • You are willing to spend 2 hours a day using the lightbulbs as your primary source of light

Not eligible if:

  • You are currently pregnant or expecting to become pregnant
  • You have a vision disorder resulting in severe vision impairment or blindness
  • You are color-blind
  • You have a history of seizures
