Safety from gun violence study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of domestic violence protective orders (aka restraining orders) on preventing future gun violence and promoting safety for survivors of intimate partner violence who have experienced gun-related abuse.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

You will speak with a researcher for 30-60 minutes to discuss your experiences with domestic violence that involved guns, and filing for a domestic violence protection order. The interview can take place over the phone or video chat, you decide.

Incentives

$25 gift card (vendor TBD)

Total length of participation:
1 hour

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • Experienced any intimate partner violence (domestic violence) that involved a gun in any way
  • Filed for a domestic violence protective order in North Carolina in past 2 years
  • At least 18 years old
  • Able to safely participate in a 30-60 minute interview in English
  • Have a working email address

Not eligible if:

  • None
