Dendritic Cell Immunotherapy for Treatment of Adult GBM

The purpose of this research is to see if an experimental vaccine, which is created from your tumor tissue and dendritic cells isolated from your blood, can be an effective therapy when given after your standard treatment of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.

  • Visits can be combined with regular clinical appointments

What will be asked of you

If you decide to take part in this research study, the general procedures include taking a sample of your tumor tissue and creating a vaccine with help of your dendritic cells isolated from your blood, (if you are in the group receiving the vaccine). You will have several exams and tests before and during the study.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • Presumed diagnosis of GBM deemed to be potentially resectable and deemed to be a good candidate for postoperative standard of care temozolomide and radiation therapy.
  • Ability to receive injections.
  • Adequate kidney, liver, bone marrow function, and immune function.

Not eligible if:

  • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Known active HIV or hepatitis infection.
  • Any severe or uncontrolled medical condition that could affect participation in this study as determined by the investigator, for example severe cardiac disease.
  • Treatment with another investigational drug or other experimental intervention within the last 30 days.
