Chronic Pain Treatment Focus Groups

We are interested in talking to people with chronic non-cancer pain about their experiences of receiving treatment, especially times that they felt particularly empowered or disempowered. Participation includes one focus group lasting 60 to 90 minutes.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female

Location

North Carolina (Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Davidson, Davie, Durham, Forsyth, Franklin, Guilford, Harnett, Johnston, Montgomery, Orange, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, Wake, Yadkin)

What will be asked of you

We invite you to join a 60-to-90 minute focus group, either in-person or online, to talk about your experiences with chronic pain treatment. You will discuss times you felt empowered and disempowered. Each group will have about six people who also live with chronic pain.

Incentives

$50, Opportunity to participate in data analysis

60 to 90 minutes

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You have chronic non-cancer pain
  • You have been treated for chronic non-cancer pain at a clinic or hospital in the Piedmont Triad or Triangle in the past year
  • Your racial/ethnic identity is Black or white

Not eligible if:

  • Your chronic pain is due to cancer or cancer treatment
