Studying Updates in neuroCognition after Knee manipulation

The proposed study will investigate whether knee joint manipulation can improve neurocognitive and neuromuscular performance in individuals with a history of ACLR.

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 35 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Extended hours (M-F, early morning or evening)
  • Weekend hours, if needed

Location

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

At visit 1 you will complete a series of short reaction time tests to test if you qualify for our study. If you do qualify, we will schedule the full testing battery. This includes several short surveys, several jumping tests, and reaction time tests. You will also receive a follow up survey after 48 hours asking about any possible side effects of the intervention or visit.

3.5 hours with a short 5-minute follow up survey after 2 days.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury within the last 10 years
  • Are Between 18 and 35 years old
  • Injured your knee playing or training for sports (recreational or organized) or during physical activity.
  • Have been cleared by a physician to return to activities and/or participate in this study.

Not eligible if:

  • You have a history of concussion or other lower extremity injury in the past 3 months
  • You have a neurological disorder, including epilepsy
  • You had surgery on multiple ligaments when your ACL was injured
  • You are pregnant
