This study wants to see if adults who don't exercise much can walk at a steady speed (100 steps per minute) for 10 minutes on a treadmill, a sidewalk, and a nature trail. We also want to know how they feel and what mood they are in while walking. This study will help us find fun ways to encourage more people to be active.
You will: 1. Come for a 60-90 minute visit where you'll take a short online survey, have your height and weight checked, and walk on a treadmill for about 19 minutes while we check how you're feeling. 2. Visit Kenan Football Stadium for 30 minutes and walk for 19 minutes while we see how you're feeling. 3. Go to the UNC Botanic Gardens for a 30-minute visit to walk for 19 minutes while we see how you're feeling. 4. Complete a short 5-10 minute survey online from home.
