Detect-ME

The purpose of this study is to collect cells from your esophagus using a special tool called the EndoSign® Cell Collection Device and test them to check for a condition called Barrett's Esophagus and esophageal cancer (EAC).

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)

What will be asked of you

At your study visit, you will be asked some questions about your medical history and demographic information. You will be asked to swallow a small capsule attached to a thread and drink water. The capsule will then dissolve in your stomach to release a small sponge, which will be slowly pulled out of your esophagus to collect cells. You will then be asked to complete a questionnaire about your experience.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • You have acid reflux or GERD OR
  • You have Barrett's Esophagus.
  • You are undergoing a standard of care endoscopy.

Not eligible if:

  • You are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.
