This study explores the relationship between social media use, early infant feeding, and parental experiences of stress among families in the Triangle area. Through interviews, surveys, and other participatory methods we hope to understand which social media platforms parents are using when they are seeking information about infant feeding. We are also interested in the effects of social media use on parental stress and anxiety when it comes to feeding their babies.
There are a number of different study activities you can participate in including a 1 hour interview (in person or over zoom) or an online survey that will take 45 min to an hour. If you complete the online survey you will be eliginle to take part in up to four additional study elements: a social media scroll tour (30 minutes) over zoom, a five day infant food diary which you complete at home, a decision making activity that is completed in person in your home or our study lab (30 min), and an exit interview that can be in person or over zoom (30 min). You may complete just some of these activities or all of them.
