Type 2 Diabetes + High Blood Pressure + Cardiovascular Disease Study

A study to test vicadrostat taken together with empagliflozin in people with type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

At each visit, you will meet with a member of the study team and answer questions about your health. The study also involves blood draws, ECGs, and willingness to take the study medication regularly.

Incentives

Information provided upon request, study medication, study results

In-person visits:
6 in the first year and then approximately 2 visits per year until the study is over
Phone or online visits:
3 in the first year and then approximately 2 phone visits per year until the study is over
Total length of participation:
Approximately 30 to 51 months

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • you have hypertension and are taking medication for it
  • you have type 2 diabetes and are taking medication for it
  • you have cardiovascular disease (coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, or cerebrovascular disease) and are taking medication for it

Not eligible if:

  • you have history of heart failure
  • you take restricted medications and are unwilling to discontinue them (more information provided upon request)
  • you are of childbearing potential and unwilling to use highly effective methods of birth control
