Kidney Health Study Opportunity

ANCHOR is a research study to see if a new investigational drug, called ABBV-CLS-628, can help people with a kidney condition called Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD). We want to see if this new drug works well for those who have this condition.

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 55 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Extended hours (M-F, early morning or evening)

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

You'll have a check-up with a doctor. You'll give blood and urine samples. We'll check your blood pressure, height, and weight. We'll also ask about any medications you take. There's a heart test, a hearing test, and a bone scan. We'll do MRI scans of your kidneys and, if needed, a simple pregnancy test. Lastly, you'll answer some easy questions about how you feel in your daily life.

Incentives

You can earn between $50 to $300 for each visit you complete., We will also cover your travel costs if you drive. If you don't have a car, we can help with your travel arrangements.

2 years and 3 months

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • you have Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease
  • your kidney function is still good but not perfect (eGFR >30 and < 90)
  • you are not planning to have a child in the next 2 years and 4 months

Not eligible if:

  • you are on tolvaptan and want to stay on that drug
  • you are close to dialysis, on dialysis or post-transplant
  • you had kidney surgery in the last 6 months
  • you have type 2 diabetes
  • you have a metal implant that would make it impossible for you to have an MRI
