SPARX: A post kidney transplant study

This is a research study designed to see if sparsentan, an investigational drug, is effective in treating participants with recurrence of IgAN or FSGS in their kidney transplant by lowering the amount of protein in the urine and whether sparsentan causes side effects.

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Visits can be combined with regular clinical appointments

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

During the study, you will be asked questions about you and your medical history, complete physical exams, complete vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, height and weight), as well as blood and urine tests.

Incentives

$150 debit card for each completed visit up to a total of $1500. Mileage reimbursement up to $126 per visit based on the current, federal business mileage rate.

11 to 12 months

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • ≥12 months since kidney transplantation
  • Biopsy-proven IgAN or FSGS in kidney transplant
  • ≥18 years of age

Not eligible if:

  • Multiorgan transplants
  • < 3 months since rejection treatment
  • Heart Failure
  • Pregnant or planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding
