Menopause Transition Study

We want to learn more about mood and brain function across the menopause transition. During this big life change, many women feel and behave differently because of the changes that are happening inside their bodies. We want to understand the reasons for the change in emotions and different thoughts they might be having.

Age & Gender

  • 44 years ~ 55 years
  • Female

Visit Availability

  • Standard business hours (M-F, 8-5)
  • Extended hours (M-F, early morning or evening)

Location

North Carolina (Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Orange, Wake)

What will be asked of you

One visit will occur virtually, and you will be asked questions about thoughts and feelings and given questionnaires to fill out. The second visit involves a blood draw and MRI.

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • Feeling less interested in activities, feeling down, off, overwhelmed or disconnected
  • Postmenopausal (up to 5 years from final menstrual period)
  • premenopaual (experiencing regular menstrual cycles)

Not eligible if:

  • None
