Study of Caregivers of Children with Asthma

The purpose of this research study is to gather information from caregivers of children with asthma about how easy or difficult it is to get access to their child's asthma medications.

Age & Gender

  • 18 years ~ 99 years
  • Male, Female, Gender Inclusive

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

you will be asked to attend one 60-to-90-minute focus group session with a group leader (one of the study staff) and 6-8 other caregivers of children with asthma to discuss barriers to getting your child's asthma medications. The focus group session will be conducted virtually using the platform Zoom. After completing the focus group session, you will be asked to complete 3 brief online surveys.

up to 3 months

Looking for Specific Volunteers

Able to participate:

  • Caregiver of a child with asthma
  • Your child is prescribed a daily inhaled asthma medication
  • your child is a patient in a UNC general pediatric, allergy or pulmonology clinic.
  • you have access to a smartphone or computer with internet

Not eligible if:

  • none
