The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between excitability of the brain and history of blackouts related to drinking alcohol. We will be using transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which is a type of non-invasive brain stimulation, and electroencephalography (EEG) to measure brain activity.
During your session, you will receive non-invasive brain stimulation while we record activity from electrodes on your scalp and electrodes on your hand, with some trials also involving peripheral nerve stimulation. You will be asked to complete questionnaires about your history with alcohol and alcohol-related blackout.
