Social Media and Mood Across the Menstrual Cycle

The purpose of our study is to better understand the relationship between social media use and mood at different points of the menstrual cycle. This is because there is a difference in the rates of depression and other mood disorders between males and females, so we want to consider factors that may be contributing to this difference.

  • 18 years ~ 25 years
  • Female

North Carolina (Statewide)

What will be asked of you

After a 30 minute virtual enrollment session, you will complete 5 weeks of daily mood and social media questionnaires (5 minutes per day)

Incentives

Up to $35 for full study compliance

Total length of participation:
5 weeks

Looking for Healthy Volunteers

Requirements for healthy volunteers are different than for those with a specific condition. If you are interested in becoming a healthy volunteer for this study, use the below categories to determine if you are able to participate.

Able to participate:

  • You experience regular menstrual cycles
  • You use Instagram and/or TikTok

Not eligible if:

  • None
