Remote Supervision Regulations for Behavioral Health Licensure

The purpose of this study is to examine how state licensure boards regulate the use of remote or tele-supervision for behavioral health clinicians pursuing independent licensure. Advances in telehealth have expanded opportunities for virtual clinical supervision, yet regulations vary widely across professions and states. Understanding how remote supervision is defined, implemented, and restricted can inform policy efforts to strengthen workforce capacity, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
